How do I submit a case?

First, collect the case records:

To capture the patient’s initial model you may use: 3M™ True Definition, iTero® (Align), TRIOS® (3Shape), or CS 3500 (Carestream).

Confirm you have the patient’s initial high resolution photos and x-rays. The fusion process requires a standard set of facial and intraoral high resolution photos, a panoramic x-ray and a cephalometric x-ray. For best results, take photos and Panorex the same day as the 3D scan; however these records are acceptable if taken up to 4 weeks before or 2 weeks after the scan. Provide the most recent cephalogram; any date is acceptable. Please create a zip file to compress images. See instructions on creating a zip file.

The resolution and angle from which photos are taken are critical. See fusion protocol for photos.

When you are ready to submit a case, download the fusion prescription form and save it to your computer. Open the PDF file with Adobe Reader and complete.

When you are ready to submit a case, please select Start new fusion case on the Case Portal page. Complete all required information on the upload page, including uploading the prescription form and your patient’s records.

To complete a case order you will select the type of case you want to start and pay for this case.

What options do I have for segmenting the indirect bonding trays

  • Full Arch – not segmented for bonding of all brackets at once
  • Midline Split – segmented for a right and left tray
  • Three Sections – segmented for 1 anterior tray and 2 posterior trays
-

When do I rescan the patient after bonding?

Scan the patient after all brackets are bonded, either at the bonding appointment or after all sequential bonding has been applied.

Please note: The bracket gates/doors must be closed before you scan.

On the fusion case portal, select Upload with bracket scans for uploading your scan with brackets.

-

What if we are only able to bond one arch to start the treatment?

You can wait to scan the patient until both arches are bonded.

-

What if a wire breaks?

Request a replacement wire through our fusion Customer Care. You can contact us and ask for fusion technical support at:

Please note: Damage from pliers is the most common cause of wire breakage. Use Weingart or Bird Beak pliers to avoid fracturing custom wires.

-

What if a bracket breaks?

Contact your GC Orthodontics representative for replacement brackets. It is also a good idea to order a spare set to keep on hand.

-

Will rebonding a bracket affect the wire sequence?

Yes, you will need to rescan the teeth around the rebonded bracket and submit this scan to us. On the fusion case portal, select Resend Records option for uploading your rebond scan. Please explain using the note box on the upload page which bracket was rebonded.

When the patient’s bracket placement is updated, the expert orthodontist will order a new wire for your patient.
