We recently introduced you to Alexa, a patient of Dr. Brian Wilk of Highpoint Dental Medicine, who along with Dr. Wilk, is excited to share her SureSmile Journey with you! This is the second post of The Smile Project series with Alexa. Additional details about Dr. Wilk and his treatment plan for Alexa can be found in the series introduction.
Today, Dr. Wilk thought it would be important to provide a brief recap on Alexa’s treatment and an update of her progress. His doctor’s notes are below:
September 25, 2019 – Delivered aligners 1-2 and did most of the IPR at that time.
October 10, 2019 – Delivered aligners 3-8. Alexa was instructed to chew on chewies for 20-30 minutes per day in 5-10 minute intervals to help aid in seating of the aligners and stretch the periodontal ligaments to speed up tooth movement.
November 7, 2019 – Delivered aligners 9-14. It was a quick, easy visit. Treatment is going smoothly with 5-day wear. No IPR was done at that visit.
December 5, 2019 – Delivered aligners 15-21. Still no need to finish IPR in the lower anterior; will evaluate at the next visit. Everything is going smoothly.
Satisfied so far with the progress of treatment, Dr. Wilk is looking forward to Alexa’s upcoming visit to deliver the next set of aligners and reassess the need for IPR.
